Even though you may win your small claims case in court, payment to you by the person or company you took to court is not guaranteed. Winning in court is not by any means like money in your pocket. Collecting any money on the judgment may take years and there are thousands upon thousands of uncollected judgments. The best advice may be to try and settle your case out of court, preferably without incurring the cost of an overpriced attorney.
