The “new normal” in the 21st Century is liberal legislators and a liberal President of the U.S. could put millions of low income citizens to work like President Roosevelt did during the Great Depression and, in turn, become heroes to the less fortunate ethnic citizenry but if they do make taxpayers out of no income, low income wage earners then these same wage earners will not need to be as dependent upon the government for handouts, and thus liberalism cannot survive unless there is dependency upon the government. This dependency upon the government by low income citizens has greatly increased since the 1960s, so much so that as of 2013 up to half of the U.S. citizenry is now dependent upon the government for financial handouts.
Moreover, if liberal legislators make taxpayers out of low income voters these same voters, as all voters tend to do, will vote their pocketbook. They will more conservative about how their tax dollars are being spent by government which does not bode well for getting votes for a liberal legislative agenda. A liberal legislative agenda mandates keeping the citizenry dependent upon the government.
