The way American manufacturers get away with saying “made in America” is they can simply, for example, have car or computer parts made in China then simply ship the parts to America and have the product “assembled” or put together in America and you can legally get away with saying “made in America”.
The law should actually require American companies to say assembled in America. This way discerning consumers may be able to figure out the product was not actually made in America but only assembled in America.
