DECEPTIVE “NUTRITION FACTS” LABELS ON FOOD PACKAGING

The food and drink Nutrition Facts labels created by the U.S. Food And Drug Administration (FDA) can be “off” or wrong by 20% when it comes to the amount of fat, sugar, salt, carbohydrates and everything else found in these processed products. However, even though a processed product’s ingredients may be wrong by 20% it will still be considered accurate by the FDA due to the latitude the FDA allows as “natural variations” when processing and manufacturing food and drink products.

However, there is no U.S. government agency even randomly checking to see if the ingredient facts on food and drink labels are even close to being accurate. The only way an ingredients facts label will ever be questioned is if the FDA gets numerous complaints about the accuracy of a particular food or drink nutrition facts label which rarely if ever happens.
