Journalism and the news media in the U.S. has evolved into nothing more than a utility used for political conflict and competition. Both mainstream journalism and the news media in America need to be liberated from the propaganda of the liberals and conservatives.
News, today, is created from the margins, not the center. Truly free media access will give a voice to the voiceless which Al-Jazeera America will potentially bring to cable TV news in the U.S.
Things are so lopsided that, critics charge, you could even go so far as to say the mainstream news media is racially motivated meaning if a black child is kidnapped it is not highly sought after news but only when a white child is kidnapped does anyone in the mainstream news media pay any attention to it.
Furthermore, black on white violent crimes get very little coverage while white on black violent crimes get day after day attention from the racially motivated news media. Why? It is all because of a combination of political agenda and the fact that certain types of violent crimes garner higher audience ratings and ratings mean more advertiser money goes to the news networks and money drives everything in corporate America.
Statistics show that black on white violent crime dwarfs that of white on black violent crimes and no one really talks about it. Critics charge, this could be considered racially motivated by those in charge of the mainstream news media.
