BOTTLED WATER OR TAP WATER?

Bottled water manufacturers are not required to disclose as much information as city water utilities because of loopholes in U.S. government oversight authority. This is because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) oversees bottled water but the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) oversees city utility tap water and the EPA has more power or regulatory authority compared to the FDA.

What is amazing is 25% to 45% of all bottled water manufacturers actually get their water from the same place that city utilities tap water comes from in the U.S. One world famous bottled water brand was tested and compared to one of the supposedly worst, dirtiest, city utility tap water sources and found that the world famous bottled water brand had higher levels of arsenic in their costly bottled water, with its fancy packaging, compared to some of the supposedly dirtiest city utility tap water found in the USA.
